Welcome to the team

This month we welcome Tijan Newsome-Stone to the team. Tijan will be joining team Andy to build commercial SaaS teams in EMEA and beyond.

Trees clean our air and water, create habitats for biodiversity, contribute to our health and wellbeing, and create jobs for social impact. We’re honoured to have reforestation through One Tree Planted as an integral part of our business model.

This month we have planted 110 trees in African regions for biodiversity 🌳

Only upon reflecting on my experience to write this review has it truly dawned on me that Oakstone are a recruitment company. That is testament to a number of things

1) The partnership approach

2) Them (specifically Burnice) having my best interest at heart vs forcing a fit for commission purposes

3) For this particular role Burnice demonstrated a comprehensive understanding of: the Employer; the personality of the hiring managers and their reporting lines all the way up to the CEO; the company focus, direction and priorities and culture; most importantly she was clear on the type of attitude, the philosophical and practical approach the application of the ideal candidates skillset and personality that would be provide the best fit outcome for candidate and employer.

4) Her conviction and belief in the fit between myself and the now soon to be my new employer was inspiring and even more so when I experienced why she had such a belief in the fit myself (as the interview stages progressed). It definitely NEVER felt like pressure or a selfish belief she had that didn’t have a strong basis in understanding...etc

5) She also basically provided everything I needed - presenting all it like a project pack/portfolio containing all I needed to know about the company and the individuals involved in the process - that was impressive as it made my research start point a lot easier

6) Lastly Burnice and I could have very candid and robust conversations as per getting on the same page about any concerns, queries, approach to negotiations and realistic outcomes...etc. Not once did I experience that guilt or pressure when you know you have to tell the recruiter that role isn’t right, but they cannot see it because they are under pressure to hit targets and fill a role, and you happen to be the the only decent fish they have found in their net! LOL!

They even offered to send me a card - for landing me my ideal and best offer of my career seeking campaign!!!! Fantastic experience. I hope I will not have to use Oakstone again anytime soon - but if I do, then I will be happy to.”
